Field Assistant

 

Due to our continued growth, SEAM Group has an opening for multiple Field Assistants in the Washington DC/Baltimore area! If you have an interest in industrial equipment and enjoy traveling to different companies, this could be the job for you!

Field Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting our Field Technicians with the opening and closing of electrical equipment as well as collecting vibration, ultrasound, and oil data.  Additional responsibilities may include collecting information on infrared electrical and rotating equipment, compressed gas system information collection, and inventory creation.


The best qualified candidates will have the following:

  • An interest in being trained on electrical and mechanical equipment including PdM methodologies like infrared, vibration analysis, and other condition monitoring techniques;

  • A strong safety orientation as well as being willing and able to wear up to Category 4 Personal Protective Equipment while on the job (for your own protection!);

  • The ability to climb ladders on equipment and work at heights of up to 30 feet;

  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds (electrical panel doors can be very heavy), reach above your head and below your knees, and crawl on your hands and knees occasionally;

  • A willingness to travel at least 30% of the time outside the Washington DC/Baltimore area;

  • The ability and willingness to follow detailed and defined guidelines;

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent;

  • And the personal maturity and dedication to show up where your job takes you, on time, and ready to roll!

Our field staff go to work locations by air or car.  Qualified candidates must meet the requirements to rent vehicles (valid driver’s license and at least 21 years old).  We pay for transportation, lodging, and offer a per diem. A corporate credit card is part of the package, and you are permitted to keep and utilize points earned through travel reward programs. 

 

Having basic computer skills in current software platforms and the ability to work with mobile devices, such as tablets, is important, as is the ability to speak and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
