Cleveland, Ohio – November 9, 2020 – SEAM Group has appointed Daniel Garstang as Vice President of Safety Consulting. Mr. Garstang is responsible of establishing a companywide strategy on asset and plant safety. He will lead his team with a state-of-the-art approach for the prevention of serious injury and fatality in the workplace.
SEAM Group is a safety leader in the industry and requires strong leadership to stay up-to-date and to have an innovative vision for our customers and staff. Safety is at the core of SEAM Group’s values and with Mr. Garstang’s leadership and collaborative efforts, it will continue to strengthen.
Daniel Garstang brings over 20 years of experience in defining and implementing strategies for serious injury and fatality prevention primarily within high exposure industries. He has served as a Safety Committee Member on the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP), Co-Chaired IOGP Safety Sub Committee on Transportation Safety, Director of NETS, was the Oil & Gas Industry representative for the creation of the ISO39001 standard, is an active contributor to NIOSH research studies and has served on various SPE Safety Committees. He has served as a subject matter expert for legal matters pertaining to safety related litigation and has provided deposition and testimony resulting from investigations, root cause analysis and opinion on preferred practice.
Daniel specializes in improving operational excellence through design and implementation and assessment of management systems, improving efficiency in operational rhythms that support, identifying and coaching on improvement opportunities, as well as defining strategies that mitigate exposures pertaining to occupational and process risk. He has designed and implemented safety management solutions globally, has resided in England, Australia, U.A.E , USA, Houston, Texas and now Salt Lake City, Utah.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science, Advanced Diploma in Business, various Diplomas in Policing and Critical Incident Management, Competency Based Training and Assessment and Frontline Management.
In his spare time Daniel is an avid swim parent with two children in USA Swimming Utah and one swimming at the University of Utah.
